Our Weekly Mowing Service

Weekly lawn mowing service consists of mowing the lawn with the appropriate size of equipment. We want you to have a quality cut so our blades are kept sharp daily. We also trim around all trees, shrubs, and any other obstacles in the lawn. We use a power edging machine to ensure your walkways, driveways, and patios are neatly trimmed. Before we leave your property, the crew will take power blowers and clean off all walks, driveways, and patios.
We generally use three workers to a crew; the same three workers all summer long will be on your property. They will change up the direction of the cut each week to avoid ruts and prevent grass from getting pushed over.
Mowing starts in early April (based on the type of spring we're having) and continues through October. Grass should generally be mowed every week to prevent stress from cutting too much plant growth off at one time (this is a must if you have Kentucky Blue Grass). Failure to do this will cause your lawn to look tired and old. Mulch builds up too fast and causes fungus and root rot to get started.
The last mow of the year is usually shorter to help minimize mice problems (common in the Bitterroot). A shorter lawn in winter helps combat snow mold and other fungus problems caused by long winters.

The Lawns Etc. Turf Program

The turf program is designed to give proper nutrients and weed control on a regular basis to assure a healthy weed-free lawn. Technicians who have been tested and licensed by the Montana Department of Agriculture will arrive on your property at a regularly scheduled time. Each application will vary based on the conditions of your lawn.

Our 4-Step Process

Step 1 Early Spring
Dethatch the lawn. It helps keep your sprinklers above ground. It helps your fertilizer and watering get to the roots. It keeps night crawlers out of your yard and helps your lawn fight off fungus problems.

Step 2 Weed Spray
This application, applied in late April through May, usually consists of a liquid weed application over the entire lawn area. This application gets rid of unwanted broadleaf weeds in your lawn (i.e. dandy lions, Canadian thistle, etc.).

Step 3 Midsummer Fertilizing (July)
A specially formulated granular fertilizer by Scott's is applied during this visit. It is designed to provide the necessary nutrients without causing burning of the grass from the summer heat.

Step 4 Fall (Late September)
Aerate and fall fertilize the lawn. This application applied late in September is designed to strengthen the grass plant and open up the soil to take fall and winter moisture and nutrients into the ground and plant.
